Mae R. Schlegel, 88, La Crosse, died Friday, Jan. 15, 2016, at Rush County Memorial Hospital, La Crosse.

She was born May 10, 1927, in Rush County to George and W. Marie (Frerichs) Misegadis.

She married C. J. “Dutch” Schlegel, in 1946, in Bazine. He preceded her in death July 18, 1987.

She was a lifelong resident of Rush County. She was a homemaker.

She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Bazine, and the Walnut Valley Senior Center, Rush Center.

Survivors include a son, Gene Schlegel and wife Cheryl, Alexander; a daughter, Marla Weber and husband Jerry, Elizabeth, Colo.; a daughter-in-law, JoAnn Schlegel, Pueblo, Colo.; six grandchildren, David Schlegel, Derrick Schlegel, Amanda Schmidtberger (Clay), Cameron Weber, Josh Weber, and Logan Weber; and four great-grandchildren, Wyatt Schmidtberger, Morgan Schmidtberger, Robert Schlegel, and Dylan Schlegel.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Paul Schlegel; five brothers, Ralph Misegadis, Dick Misegadis, Frank Misegadis, Ray Misegadis, and Dale Misegadis; and one sister, Maude Snyder.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 7 p.m., and from 2 to 2:50 p.m. Monday, all at Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse; burial will be in the Alexander Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Walnut Valley Senior Center, Rush Center, or the Rush County Memorial Hospital.
