Wayne A. Knoll, 80, longtime assistant professor of English literature at Georgetown University and formerly of Victoria, died Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013, at his home in Springfield.
He was born Sept. 14, 1933, in St. Peter.
He was a former Jesuit priest who taught at Georgetown for more than 40 years. He later left the Jesuit order to pursue family life.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, B. Anne Gehman; a daughter, Rhonda St. Amant; his siblings, Omer, Lester, Carroll, Janie and Larry Knoll; his son-in-law, Christopher St. Amant; four grandchildren, Rachel, Madelyn, Sophia and Ryan; and many nieces, nephews and other family members.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Basilica of St. Fidelis, Victoria; inurnment in St. Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Cline's Mortuary, 412 Main, Victoria, KS 67671, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Basilica of St. Fidelis.
A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to the Basilica of St. Fidelis in care of the mortuary.
