The Wichita Eagle
(TNS) Prairie Pines Christmas Tree Farm kicks off its holiday activities Friday with a visit from Santa and treats for children.
Now in its 40th year, the Christmas tree farm lets families select and cut their own trees and provides a selection of already-cut trees for those who want to leave the sawing to the professionals.
On Friday, Prairie Pines, which is located at 4055 N. Tyler Road, will welcome Santa on the K&O Railroad Shocker Train at 11 a.m. There will be other activities, and tree sales will run through 5 p.m.
The farm's regular hours for the season are from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays; and noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
