Vera M. Peach, 85, La Crosse, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016, at Rush County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care, La Crosse.

She was born July 13, 1930, in Rush County to Matthew and Velma B. (Hoofer) Kopsky. She was a lifelong resident of Rush County.

She married Orlando J. Peach on Aug. 25, 1948, in La Crosse. They operated Jerry’s Tavern in La Crosse for many years, and later she owned and operated a day care for many years.

She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, La Crosse, and Cedar Bluff Diehards, Cedar Bluff.

Survivors include her husband, La Crosse; two sons, Orlando John Peach Jr. and wife, Connie, Springfield, Mo., and Frank Peach and wife, Kim, La Crosse; five daughters, Barbara D. Seltmann and companion, Lee, Hays, Kathy Herrman and husband, Kenny, Liebenthal, Rhonda Holloway and husband, Topper, La Crosse, Jeri Diehl and husband, Ronnie, Jetmore, and Mary Kay Schuckman and husband, Irvin, Colorado Springs, Colo.; three sisters, Velma Atkinson, Granger, Ind., Jean Schmidt, Offerle, and Margaret Pechanec, Timken; 17 grandchildren, Darcy Newell, Deana Rohn, Ricky Seltmann, Ronny Seltmann, Ryan Seltmann, Shauna Herrman, Shane Herrman, Andy Herrman, Gwen Fetters, Billie Jo Bond, Matthew Peach, Jesse Peach, Chad Diehl, Roni Mae Diehl, Trevor Schuckman, Kelsey Schuckman and Brittany Schuckman; 21 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Richard Donald Peach; two infant daughters, Donna Jean Peach and Patricia Marie Peach; and two brothers, Laverne Kopsky and Virgil Kopsky.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Michael Catholic Church, La Crosse; burial in La Crosse City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with family receiving friends from 6 to 7 p.m. at Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse, and from 9 to 9:50 a.m. Friday at the church.

A vigil/rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
