The Ellis County Sheriff’s office is asking for the public’s help in locating a 13-year-old girl missing since Wednesday. The girl is not believed to be in any danger.

In a release issued late this afternoon, the sheriff’s office said Peyton Nicole White, in the custody of the Department of Children and Family, had run away from home.

“Despite having some contact with acquaintances through a Facebook account since Aug. 23, she has refused to turn herself in or return to her home in Catharine,” the release said.

The sheriff’s office said White is believed to be in either Ellis, Osborne or Sedgwick county.

Authorities said she is not considered to be in danger at this time, but is asking for the public’s help in locating her.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to contact the detective division at (785) 625-1040.
