The Fort Hays State University Tigers continue to garner MIAA/Astroturf Football Athlete of the Week selections, as senior quarterback Treveon Albert and senior punter Jordan Stangler picked up the honors for the Tigers in Week 3.

Albert, the Co-Offensive Athlete of the Week, rushed for 144 yards and threw for 101 yards in Fort Hays State’s 30-7 road win at Lindenwood. He averaged 8 yards per carry on the night, giving Fort Hays State a 100-yard rusher for the sixth consecutive game dating back to last season. It was his third career 100-yard rushing game. He connected with senior receiver Andrew Flory for a 38-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter.

Albert shares the honor with Washburn junior quarterback Derek McGinnis.

Stangler averaged 38 yards per punt Saturday with three of his nine punts resulting in drives starting inside the 20-yard line. He also recorded two punts of over 50 yards with a long of 58.

Fort Hays now has received four selections for Athletes of the Week. Sophomore running back Shaquille Cooper was named Offensive Athlete of the Week in the first two weeks of the season.
