GREAT BEND -- The Hays High School volleyball team won the Great Bend tournament on Saturday, going 4-1 on the day.

The Indians split their first two matches, defeating Phillipsburg 2-0 (25-22, 25-13) and losing to Hutchinson 2-0 (26-24, 25-22). HHS rebounded with a 2-0 win over Great Bend (25-12, 25-18) and a sweep of St. John (25-22, 25-17).

In their final match, the Indians once again faced Hutchinson, this time earning the win in two sets (25-21, 25-21).

HHS, now 20-6 overall, next competes today at a quad in Colby, its last action before the WAC tournament at Garden City on Oct. 18.
