Central Plains, the top-ranked team in Class 2A, prevented a perfect Saturday for the Thomas More Prep-Marian volleyball team at the Hoisington Invite.

The Monarchs swept the hosts 31-29, 25-13 and Phillipsburg 25-13, 25-19 before facing the undefeated Oilers.

TMP dropped the first set 25-18 and the second 25-20 in the team's only loss on the day.

Natausha Dreher's squad got back in the win column against St. John and Smith Center. The Monarchs needed three sets to get past the Tigers and swept Smith Center.

Kayla Vitztum led the quad in kills and aces with 34 and 12, respectively, while Melissa Pfeifer recorded 17 blocks.  

TMP will take a 20-3 record into its next match Monday night in Victoria.
