The Fort Hays State University women's basketball team won its eighth straight game on Tuesday, 102-49, over NAIA Kansas Wesleyan University (8-4) at Gross Memorial Coliseum.

Senior center Kate Lehman finished with 31 points (two off her career high), 11 blocks and 10 rebounds for her third career triple-double. Lehman's 11 blocks moved her to 424 for her career, passing Brittney Kroon (Seattle Pacific, 2003-06) for fourth all-time in NCAA Division II history.

Junior guard Chelsea Mason (18 points) and junior forward Elle Stein (10 points) also finished in double figures for the Tigers.

FHSU never trailed against KWU, racing out to a 24-3 advantage and led 61-27 at halftime. The Coyotes were held to 30.6 percent from the field, while FHSU shot 63.5 percent for the game, making 23 of 30 shots in the first half.

FHSU (9-1 overall, 2-0 MIAA) will play at Northwest Missouri State University (3-7, 0-2) at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Maryville, Mo.

FHSU men roll past Bethany

Despite a slow start, the FHSU men's basketball team was able to run away from NAIA Bethany College (8-3) on Tuesday, 95-52, at GMC.

The Swedes kept it close early, FHSU holding only a 16-14 lead nearly eight minutes into the game. The Tigers answered by finishing the half on a 33-10 run to take a 49-24 lead into the locker room and never faltered in the second half.

Senior center Jared Tadlock and senior guard Achoki Moikobu (5 for 6 from 3-point range) each finished with 17 points, junior forwards Jake Stoppel adding 14 and Dom Samac 10. Stoppel also led the Tigers with 12 rebounds.

FHSU (7-3 overall, 1-1 MIAA), winners of three straight, will dive back into MIAA play on Saturday with a trip to NWMSU (7-2, 1-1). Game time is 3:30 p.m., following the women's game.
