WaKEENEY — In a brief announcement Friday, the Kansas Attorney General's office announced the arrest of Scott R. Bollig, 30, WaKeeney, on suspicion of murder and domestic battery.

While the announcement from the attorney general’s office didn’t suggest who the victim might be, the inmate roster for the Trego County Sheriff’s office provides a glimpse.

There, Bollig is listed as being held on charges of a crime involving an unborn child. He’s also being held on the domestic battery charge.

Formal charges haven’t been filed in the the case, the statement from Attorney General Derek Schmidt’s office said.

Bollig was arrested Thursday by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation and the WaKeeney Police Department. At the request of Trego County Attorney Tony Potter, the attorney general’s office will be handling the prosecution in the case.

Bond has been set at $500,000.
