Jeanette M. Klaus, 82, Hays, died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, at Via Christi Villages.

She was born Dec. 1, 1932, in Victoria to Otto and Clementine (Hoffman) Dinkel.

She married George J. Klaus on Oct. 16, 1951, in Hays. He preceded her in death Dec. 2, 1994. She was a homemaker and worked for many years at Wiesner's Department Store.

She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, the Veteran of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and Hays Medical Center Auxiliary where she was a volunteer in the hospital gift shop.

She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include three sons, Mike Klaus and wife, Pat, Brad Klaus and wife Jan, and Greg Klaus, all of Hays; a daughter, Sharon Huston and husband, Bob, Hays, a brother, Otto Dinkel, Jr. and wife, Carol, Victoria; and five grandchildren, Whitney Klaus, Manhattan, Austin Klaus, Hays, Justin Klaus, Dallas and Cameron Klaus and Sydney Klaus, both of Hays.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 1805 Vine; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, both at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1906 Pine, Hays, KS 67601.

A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church or Hospice of Hays Medical Center, in care of the funeral home.
