McDonald’s of North Hays, Russell and South Hays announced the May Crew Member of the Month Awards. The recipients are Amanda Enfield, North Hays; Diane Larson, Russell; and Lourdes Herrera, South Hays. Enfield joined the team June 12, 2007, and was promoted to crew trainer March 16, 2011. Larson has been a part of the team since Aug. 23, 1995. She was promoted to crew trainer June 1, 1996. She previously received the award in May 2014, March 2007, March 2005, January 2001 and February 1999. Herrera became a part of the North Hays team Aug. 20, 2002, then transferred to South Hays on Oct. 1, 2007. She was promoted to crew trainer March 6, 2011. She previously received the award in March 2014, September 2009, November 2008 and January 2004.

Deb Alvarez, RN, recently was awarded the Fort Hays State University Department of Nursing Leora B. Stroup Award for outstanding outreach student. The outreach award goes to a student in the RN-to-Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. Course work for the nurses in this program is conducted through the Virtual College. Alvarez works at Dreiling/Schmidt Cancer Institute at HaysMed and has been an employee of HaysMed for nine years.
