Jacob Montoya III, 22, Hays, formerly of Garden City, died Friday, Oct. 10, 2014, in Ellis County.

He was born Sept. 11, 1992, in Garden City to Maria Alicia (Ortega) Rosales and Jacob Montoya Jr. He attended Dodge City High School, where he was on the football and wrestling teams and was a yell leader. He later attended Dodge City Community College.

For the past two years, he lived in Hays, where he was a patient care technician at Hays Medical Center.

He attended First Baptist Church, Dodge City.

He enjoyed working out, boxing and gymnastics.

Survivors include his mothers, Maria Alicia and Ericka Rosales, Ulysses; his father, Guymon, Okla.; three sisters, Aurelia Romero and Anahi Montoya, both of Ulysses, and Reyna Montoya, Guymon; and his grandparents, Jacinto and Dorelia Carrillo, Garden City, and Jacob and Maria Montoya, Denver.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Jonathan Montoya.

Paternal Spanish Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Garnand Funeral Home, Garden City; additional Maternal English Services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Church of the Nazarene, Garden City.
