Larry Thomas Haxton, 70, Claflin, died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014, at Clara Barton Hospital, Hoisington.

He was born Sept. 30, 1944, in Great Bend to Wallace and Louise (Werhahn) Haxton. He was a 1962 graduate of Chase High School.

He married Mary "Janie" Steffan on Nov. 29, 1969, in Chase. He retired in 2006 from Farmers Co-op in Claflin. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Monte Haxton, Argonia, Kyle Haxton, Hoisington, and Kevin Haxton, Ellsworth; a daughter, Gina Oberle, Victoria; a brother, Duane Haxton, Newton; a sister, Shirley Long, Chase; and 11 grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church; burial in Claflin Cemetery.

Friends can call from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington.

A vigil and Knights of Columbus rosary will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to Clara Barton Hospital Foundation or Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in care of the funeral home.
