The Ellis County Commission will meet at its regular meeting at 5 p.m. Monday.

County Administrator Greg Sund will request county administrative offices be closed to the public Jan. 2 and 5, in addition to Dec. 31.

The staff will be relocating personal computers and smaller items to the administrative center at 718 Main.

The offices will reopen to the public Jan. 6 at 718 Main, if commissioners agree.

At the last commission meeting, the Ellis County appraiser reported the last time the county contracted for an aerial photo was 2007.

There has been growth in the number of buildings in the county, and the county needs updated photos.

Considering the cost of the project, the administrator is recommending soliciting bids.

The project has to be completed before spring when tree leaves and foliage reappear.

Also on the agenda, Sheriff Ed Harbin is anticipating the need to hire more part-time jailers to cover the disbursed jail operation.

Also, emergency services is requesting the purchase of power lifters for ambulance cots.

Commissioners will discuss Dec. 26 as a special holiday, and they also will consider cereal-malt beverage licenses and end-of-year transfers.
