In the following diatribe, I don't mean to demean or diminish the horror of the shedding of the innocent's blood in Newtown, Conn.
Their blood is hardly dry and the vultures are out in full voice, namely the president, press, pundits and the politicians crying for a ban on the tools of the killer. Tools. Remember the words of Rahm Emanuel, "Don't let a good crisis go to waste."
B. Obama is shedding innocents' blood. It is on his hands as he has to sign off each week on the various drone attacks around the world. Yes, he gets some so-called terrorists, but kills far more innocents, tens of thousands over time.
Yes, his tools are much better, but they are still just tools. It takes a human mind and human hands to do the evil deed. Humans. Yes B.O. has innocent blood on his hands, as did W. Bush, H.W. Bush, Clinton, on and on. All in your name. Yes, yours and mine. Did/do you speak out against the unjust wars of aggression?
Let's look a little deeper at the cause for the murders in Newtown, namely human nature. Since his inception on earth, mankind has always been a killer with a violent streak. It's part of the human condition, i.e. the beast in all of us. Have you ever became angry at someone or something? That is the beast stirring in you and trying to break free of the veneer of civilization. That veneer is very thin and fragile, easily broken as in Newtown.
How do you change human nature? I have no idea. A mental health expert who appeared on TV a couple of days after the incident gave his profession as a whole a D grade for failing to deal with this disturbed element of humans. Jesus gave us one of the signs and reasons of his return as "violence continually." In short, man doesn't change until his return to set things/man right.
The vultures (elites) cry to ban the tools because of their agenda to totally control you in the future, womb to tomb. No it's not the tool.
Cops use the same tools to protect you and I. Responsible citizens use the same tools every day to prevent crimes. Put the onus where it belongs on the distributed/deranged and just plain evil people too. Your safety is your responsibility -- the police don't prevent most crimes; they investigate after the fact.

Mike Corn gave the concealed-carry weapon permit holders holy hell in his anti-gun piece about 10 days ago as I write. The CCW people have attended classes and been investigated before being issued the permit -- they are very legal. Mike is a typical liberal, thinking with his emotions instead of his head.
Let's look at the Kansas CCW thing first. The Associated Press found that of the 51,078 permits issued in Kansas since the law took effect in 2007, just 44 permit holders were charged with a crime committed while using a firearm. The Wichita Eagle reported that figure equals/charge for every 1,161 permit holders are 0.09 percent.
In plain English, permit holders aren't as violent as the general population of Kansas. That 44 figure is for all crimes not murder/homicide only.
Remember, quite a few homicides are ruled justified.
Remember when the press, politicians and privileged elite were screaming about blood running in the streets and wild west shootouts when Florida passed CCW. Didn't happen. Florida's violent crime rate decreased 57 percent from 1991 to 2011 even though they gained 43 percent in population in that 20 years. They now have over one million CCW holders; 1 in 17 of the population. In that 20 years total murders dropped from 1,276 per year to 985 while gaining 6 million people.
Chicago has concealed carry but it is done illegally by criminals, etc. Chicago has among the strictest gun laws in the country for 30 years yet murders went up 38 percent in 2012. Blacks are 33 percent of the population yet blacks committed 80 percent of them. Blacks were 78 percent of the victims.
Less than 5 percent of the murders in Cook County (Chicago) are prosecuted. Guess they issue "get out of jail free cards" in Cook County.
In 73 percent of gun-defense incidents the attacker was a stranger to the victim. That gives the lie to the grabbers who say a gun kept for defense will be used mostly against family members or acquaintances.
Homicide dropped out of the top 15 causes of death in 2010 and also since then.
Coincidentally gun sales set a record in 2010, then again in 2011 and now a new record again in 2012; almost 5 million in November and December 2012 alone.
People are in full cry for more gun restrictions since the Sandy Hook shooting; let us look at something. The four worst school killings were in Scottland, Germany, Russia and the USA. The worst in U.S. history was in 1927 when a guy bombed his house (no deaths) and then bombed the school he set off more bombs/bomb in his car close to the school. Killed 38 total. No use of guns by him.
Gun control is people control. Sarah Brady the notorious anti-gun activist put it bluntly when quoted in National Educator: "Our task of creating a socialist America can only succeed when those who would resist us have been totally disarmed."
Scary, huh? They aren't hiding their agenda anymore.
"Good people do not need laws to tell them to act responsibly, while bad people will find a way around laws" -- Plato.
"When a strong man, fully armed guards his homestead, his possessions are undisturbed" -- Bible.
One last one, "When attacked, a gun in the hand is better than a cop on the phone." Amen.
No, Mr. Corn, I think you need to use your head next time before you unholster your "poison pen."
In closing, I think Mike better stick to taking photos.
I have to say he is a very good photographer, and I certainly thank him and the staff of HDN for the good full-page photo Christmas Day of the stained glass window in St. Joseph Church in Damar. I thank you all for putting Christ back in Christmas this year on your pages of HDN. It was a refreshing thing. Thanks.
