Lillian Jacobs, 83, Hays, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014, at her home.

She was born Aug. 26, 1931, in rural Ellis County to Isidore and Anna (Meier) Klaus. She attended Girl's Catholic High School.

She married Gene Jacobs on Feb. 23, 1952, in Pfeifer. She was a farm wife, worked for Travenol for 10 years and then worked as a bookkeeper at Coca-Cola for 32 years.

She was a member of the Victoria Daughters of Isabella, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays, and Holy Cross Catholic Church.

She was a volunteer at the ARC Thrift Shop and supported numerous charities. She enjoyed her grandchildren's school and sporting events, and was a loving, compassionate and caring person.

Survivors include her husband, of the home; two daughters, Patty Way and husband, Larry, Wichita, and Debbie Hoffman and husband, Tom, Hays; two granddaughters, Whitney Woods and husband, Adam, Norman, Okla., and Kaylee Hoffman, Laramie, Wyo.; a step-granddaughter, Brandi Way, Wichita; three step-great-grandchildren, Ryan, Tayton and Mallory Way; two sisters-in-law, Mary Klaus, Schoenchen, and Alberta Klaus, Hays; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Julius, Lavern, Edward and Robert; and three sisters, Esther Rogers, Verneda "Neats" Dorathy and Mary Alice Rupp.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Pfeifer; burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, both at Brock's-Keithley Funeral Chapel, 2509 Vine, Hays, KS 67601.

A Victoria Daughters of Isabella rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday, followed by a vigil at 7 p.m., both at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Holy Cross Charities or St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays, in care of the funeral home.
