July 14, 2019: SOAP #3510: Isaiah 19-21; Hebrews 11F

Scripture:  Hebrews (NIV) 11:8 By faith Abraham, whencalled to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed andwent, even though he did not know where he was going.

Observation:   Abrahamdid not know where he was going.  But hedid know some things.  In verse 10Abraham knew that God was the architect and builder of a heavenly city.  In verse 11 Abraham knew that God wasfaithful!  In verses 17 and 18 Abrahamknew what God had told him.  In verse 19Abraham knew that God could raise the dead.

When we consider what Abraham knew, it is not so amazing that Abraham followedGod to an unknown destination.  It wouldhave been amazing if he had not followed God!!!

Application:   In someways, I am like Abraham.  I know too muchabout God not to follow Him!  It would beillogical not to follow God!  What Ialready know about God assures me that following God is the right thing to do,even when He does not tell me where I am going.

Prayer:  Holy Spirit, I know it is a faith walk when Ifollow your leading, but it takes much more faith to believe that I know betterthan you and that I will be able to face the unknown. Today, and for always, Itrust you! Amen
