Gary R. Lindenmuth, 77, Hays, died Monday, June 13, 2016, at McAllen Heart Hospital, McAllen, Texas.

He was born June 28, 1938, in Wenatchee, Wash., to Leo (Pappy) and Hazel (Stukey) Lindenmuth. He married Helen Hendrix on May 29, 1958, in Chickasha, Okla. He worked for Chief Drilling Co. for many years and the last 22 years has been employed part-time at Doerflers’ Harley-Davidson.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Hays.

He enjoyed entertaining and spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling to his home in Newfoundland each summer.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Jeff Lindenmuth, Hays; a daughter, Deanna Doerfler and husband, Brian, Hays; a sister, Joyce Disque and husband, Wally; three grandchildren, Niles Lindenmuth, Wichita, Ashley (Doerfler) Clark, and husband, Derek, Marietta, Ga., and Tara (Doerfler) Chapin and husband, David, Cincinnati; and three great-grandchildren, Chase Brian Clark, Lila Jane and Quinn Lauren Chapin.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, Hays; cremation has taken place in McAllen.

Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1906 Pine, Hays, KS 67601, and from 10 a.m. until time of service Monday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church or Fort Hays Municipal Golf Course in care of the funeral home.
