HERINGTON - The first of a five-part series of KCA Regional meetings will take place Monday in Herington. The Herington Livestock Commission Company will be the host and location of the meeting. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. and will include Animal Health & Nutrition presentations as well as a free dinner for all those who attend.
The Veterinary Feed Directive (VFD) is one of the most significant regulations to directly affect cattle producing operations this year, and it directly affects the relationship that producers must maintain with their operation's veterinarian.
Dr. Jessica Laurin, owner/operator of the Animal Health Center of Marion County and the TriCounty Veterinary Center of Herington will present information on VFD, and will be available to answer questions on how this impacts the independent producer. Katie Kueser of Elanco will also give a presentation on animal health.
A free evening meal with USA Beef BBQ brisket including the fixings will be served. The meeting will wrap up following dinner at approximately 8 p.m. In order to ensure the proper amount of food for all attending, KCA requests that attendees RSVP to the KCA offices by calling 785-238-1483.
