Final water supply goals have been adopted by each of the 14 Kansas regions as part of the Long Term Vision for the Future of Water in Kansas.
Stakeholders have been working for the past eight months to help develop water supply goals based on public comments and available resource condition information for each of the 14 regions.
The Kansas Water Authority has appointed Regional Advisory Committee members to represent various water users in their regions, according to a Thursday release from the Kansas Water Office.
Goals vary by region, from an emphasis on reduced irrigation in the west to a focus on the quantity and quality of water storage farther east.
