Gerald “Jerry” Pfannenstiel, 71, died Sunday, June 26, 2016, at Littleton Advent Hospital.

He was born Aug. 17, 1944, in Hays to Paul and Philomena (Leiker) Pfannenstiel.

He married Janet Stanton on Nov. 11, 1967, in Hays. He worked at Co-op, Paul McDonald Chevrolet, and was a volunteer fireman. He was the owner of Jerry’s Alignment and was a trainer for Trans Am Trucking, Kansas City, and did security for schools in Colorado.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran as a jet engine mechanic.

Survivors include his wife, Littleton, Colo.; two sons, Steven, Hays, and Daniel, Leavenworth; a daughter, Jenny Lindsey, Highlands Ranch, Colo.; siblings, JoAnn Burnett, Dighton, and Linus Pfannenstiel, Damar; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Brock’s-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 2509 Vine, Hays, KS 67601; inurnment will follow services in St. Joseph’s Cemetery with military honors by Hays VFW.

A rosary will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral chapel.
