BROWNELL -- A 34-year-old Utica man was killed Tuesday when the vehicle he was driving hit a guardrail and went into the ditch.
The victim of the accident was identified as Joshua W. Young, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol. The accident was reported at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, about 1.5 miles east of Brownell.
The vehicle, the KHP reported, was southbound on a county road when it left the roadway and struck a guardrail on the driver's side. The vehicle then went into the east ditch and struck a fence, coming to rest in a field.
Young was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident.
