Alois W. Rupp, 76, Hays, died Saturday, March 12, 2016, at Via Christi Village, Hays.
He was born Nov. 15, 1939, in Ellis to Alois and Evelyn (Schmeidler) Rupp. He attended Ellis High School.
He married Barbara Douglas on Oct. 22, 1960, in Ellis. He worked for Haliburton as a truck driver and then he became a contract pumper for several oil companies including Production Drilling, A. Scott Ritchie, Mack Oil and Slawson Oil.
He enjoyed watching Westerns. He was a member of the Ellis Knights of Columbus and St. Mary Church.
Survivors include his wife, Hays; two daughters, Lisa Workman and husband, Tony, Loveland, Colo., and Lora Armbruster, and husband, Todd, Hays; two brothers, Clarence Rupp, Ellis, and James Rupp and wife, Henrietta, Littleton, Colo.; two sisters, Helen Richardson, San Antonio, and Rose Egger and husband, Doug, Hays; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Rupp, Ellis; five grandchildren, Zachariah (Maria) Armbruster, Grand Island, Neb., Marguerite (Yan) Stastny, Schwenningen, Germany, Shelby Workman, Loveland, and Cassandra Armbruster and Candra Armbruster, both of Hays; and five great-grandchildren, Camdyn Armbruster, Prisayus Kennedy, and Draxton VanEpps, all of Hays, and Reagan Stastny and Mila Stastny, both of Schwenningen.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Norman Rupp, Anton Rupp and John Rupp.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Ellis; burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Brock’s-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 2509 Vine, Hays, KS 67601.
A combined rosary and vigil service will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Ellis Knights of Columbus Hall to be used for the remodeling project.
