Karen Marie Boyce, 77, died Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at Porter Hospice Residence in Centennial, Colo.

She was born June 15, 1939, in Damar to Arthur and Elsie (Marcotte) Arpin. She was a 1957 graduate of Damar High School and attended Marymount College in Salina for a year then ventured to Chicago.

She married William “Bill” Boyce on June 11, 1960, in Damar. In 1982, she graduated from the Big Sky College of Barber Styling in Missoula, Mont., and began a career cutting and styling hair.

She was very talented in arts, crafts, home interior decorating, landscaping, gardening, gourmet cooking, and entertaining family and friends. She enjoyed dancing, playing bridge, snow skiing and golfing and was a member of the Hamilton Golf Club. She enjoyed volunteering at Hamilton’s Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital Gift Shop, where she became a co-manager and buyer and volunteered as a tour guide at Hamilton’s historic Marcus Daly Mansion.

Survivors include her husband, Bill; a son, Bryon, Aurora, Colo.; two daughters, Kym Heitke and husband, Chris, Carmichael, Calif., and Stephanie Grace and husband, Joel, Highlands Ranch, Colo.; three sisters, Jeanie Roberts and husband, Denis, and Becky Pyle and husband, John, all of Hays, and Treva Johnston and husband, Kirk, WaKeeney; her grandsons, Jordan and Matthew Grace, Highlands Ranch; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Myra (Wayne) Schmidt.

Services will be at 10 a.m. July 1, at St. Joseph Church, Damar; burial in Damar Cemetery.

Cremation is under the care of All-States Cremation Services, Centennial.
