After years of declining funding, compounded by recent leadership instability, our organization is at a critical juncture — and we need Ellis County to step up now.

Connecting local employers with students – a new Ellis County Workforce initiative

The Chamber’s Ellis County Workforce Committee launched a new initiative this fall to connect local employers with area high school students. Sarah Wasinger, The Chamber President / CEO, explained to County Commissioners on October 7, 2025 that a subcommittee had been formed this past summer to create a unique experience, focusing on one industry at time, and bring together members of the business community and high school students.

At last week’s City Commission Meeting, Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) Executive Director Melissa Dixon presented highlights of upcoming October community events, including The Chamber’s Fall Election Forum at 6 p.m. Monday, October 6, 2025 at the Beach/Schmidt Performing Arts Center.
