The Ellis County asphalt overlay project set to begin Monday (July 21st) closing 3 blocks of Cathedral Avenue to thru traffic (between Catharine and Airbase Roads) has been postponed. However, motorists in travelling in the area may still be affected by a one-day asphalt sealing project taking place Monday July 21, 2025, on Toulon Avenue (between Catharine and Airbase.
Both the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) and the Ellis County Public Works Department issued announcements that motorists may possibly experience “minor delays, not exceeding 15 minutes this week, as on Monday July 21st, KDOT begins a bridge repair project in Ellis County along I-70. Crews will be making repairs to the undersides of the bridges carrying both eastbound and westbound I-70 over Old Highway 40 near Walker in Ellis County.
