EAS funding safe, for now

Hays City Manager Toby Dougherty confirmed at the July 10, 2025, City Commission Meeting that that President Trump’s proposed budget cuts to the Essential Air Services (EAS) program had been removed before final passage. Commissioner Shaun Musil stated that legislators and senators should be thanked for fighting for the EAS.

Then you’ll want to attend Tuesday’s 8:30 a.m., July 15, 2025 Ellis County Commission Meeting. According to the July 15, 2025 County Commission Meeting Agenda, the 2nd Draft of the 2026 Budget will be presented, prior to the County Commissioners meeting with all Department Heads and Elected Officials on July 21, 2025 to go over individual budgets.
