Governor Laura Kelly has approved updated drought declarations for Kansas counties with Executive Order #22-08. This drought declaration continues to keep all 105 Kansas counties either in watch, warning or emergency status. Ellis County remains in a state of drought emergency according to the report.

Since then, the 90-year-old event has stayed true to its heritage by continuing to be the largest youth livestock show in the state. This year, more than 700 exhibitors entered 1,422 animals in the show, which was held September 30 – October 2 in Hutchinson.

The Women’s Ministry at North Oak Community Church, 3000 Oak St., will host a women’s conference on Saturday, Oct. 22, for those high school age and above.
