50th Annual Oktoberfest in Hays October 7-8 Hays, Kan. — Members of the Hays Volga German Society, organizers of the Hays Oktoberfest, would like to invite the community to come out and enjoy the 50th Annual Volga German Oktoberfest on Friday, October 7th from 10:00AM to 7:00PM, and Saturday, October 8th beginning after the Fort Hays State University Homecoming Parade til 6:00PM, in Municipal Park.
Homecoming week kicks off for Hays High and Fort Hays State University, all leading up to the 50th Oktoberfest celebration this weekend. Recently, the number of fires in the Hays area has increased including a house fire, two dumpster fires, a vehicle fire, and two business fires. While some are still under investigation, Hays Fire Department has ruled that most are unknown if not accidental.
