Kansas attorney general candidate emerges from tragedy with refined sense of public service

TOPEKA — Democrat Chris Mann looks at the job of Kansas attorney general through the lens of personal experience as a law enforcement officer, crime victim, prosecutor and defense lawyer. Mann, competing against Republican nominee Kris Kobach in the November election, said he wouldn’t not approached this foray into elective politics in the same way had a drunk driver not shattered a lifelong dream to follow in career footsteps of his police officer father.

Dane G. Hansen Foundation brings cutting-edge technology to allied health

Thanks to a $100,000 grant awarded by the Dane G. Hansen Foundation, the Department of Allied Health at Fort Hays State University has recently acquired cutting-edge technology that will better prepare students for their chosen professions. FHSU dedicated an additional $75,000 in support of this project and its implementation.

USD388 Bond Issue opens polls Thursday

Hays Daily News Voters who have registered prior to the August 18 deadline will be able to vote on the USD388 Bond this Thursday. Voting can be done in person at regular poling locations, at the Ellis County Clerk office at 718 Main Street or through a mail in ballot that MUST be post marked no later than September 8 and received by September 13.

Think Like An Entrepreneur Program launches September 2022

Grow Hays, in association with the Network Kansas E-Community Partnership, announces the ‘Think Like an Entrepreneur’ – Ice House Entrepreneurship Program offered in Ellis County starting September 14th, 2022. Sessions will be held over eight-weeks, Wednesdays September 14 through November 2nd.The program fee of $150 for adults and $75 for students. The fee covers catered meals. We are offering an early bird price of $100 if signed up and paid by September 2nd. The goal of the course is to teach participants to develop an entrepreneurial mindset.
