The Ellis County Commission will hold a Special Meeting/Retreat on May 8, 2025, for strategic planning and setting of priorities and goals for Ellis County (facilitated by the Kansas Association of Counties.) The May 8, 2025, Special Meeting/Retreat Agenda states that no actions will be taken during the day-long event, which will be held at the Candlewood Suites in Salina. According to County Administrator Darin Myers, Commissioners and staff will be attend the retreat, which will include training provided by the Kansas Association of Counties.
Sue Ann Tebo will be inducted into the Kansas Teachers’ Hall of Fame Saturday, June 7, 2025, in Dodge City along with nine other outstanding teachers from across the state of Kansas.
The Cities of Hays and Russell issued a joint announcement on April 29 that the Kansas Water Office (KWO) has scheduled water releases to begin on May 5 from Cedar Bluffs Reservoir in Trego County to support water supplies for both Cities.
