The American Historical Society of Germans from Russia officially welcomes Deborah Arnez as their new Executive Director, beginning February 7. Arnez joins the AHSGR with a strong foundation of diverse museum and history experience.
TMP High School has announced their second quarter honor roll students. The Bishop’s Honor Roll recognizes students who received a 96 percent average or above, with no grades less than 77 percent.
The City of Hays is partnering with KSU Smoky Hill River Watersheds Water Conservation and Water Quality for a poster contest, highlighting their theme of “Make Every Drop Count”. The Chamber in Hays, Kansas held their 2022 Annual Chamber Banquet on January 25, where eight individuals were recognized for their significant contributions to the Hays area. The first award presented was the Vyve Broadband Rising Star Award which recognized a young professional for leadership and service within their profession, the community and overall chamber participation.
Fort Hays State University’s Student Recognition Programs will return to traveling for their annual Tiger Road Show this year. Director of Admissions Jon Armstrong will join 30 to 40 personnel on the month-long, 12-city series that works to recognize high school and transfer students who want to learn more about FHSU.

For me, this year in particular signals surges of hopefulness and confidence in our students and the future of Fort Hays State University. That confidence is fueled by the resiliency of our students and the determination of our hardworking faculty and staff.
As of Friday, Options Domestic and Sexual Violence Services is opening submissions for a poster contest as well as an interactive art installation. The pieces will be featured in the Spring Art Walk, held in April in recognition of National Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
