When Kyle received a call from the “fraud department” of his local bank, he was worried about the safety of his money and immediately complied with their requests for information. Unfortunately for Kyle, the bank’s fraud department was not on the other end of that call.
Fort Hays State University’s 5th annual Giving Day is a wrap, and once again, the Tiger family showed up in a big way. Preliminary results show that nearly 1,000 gifts were made, totaling $180,000.

An outdoor library is something the FHSU Tiger Tots Pre-School staff had wanted for years. So, when Carol Solko-Olliff, member of Hays’ Noon Rotary Club and co-advisor for the FHSU Rotaract Club, offered to partner with Tiger Tots to bring an outdoor library to the Tiger Tots Pre-School play area, Director Sara Stroup said she “absolutely agreed.” The Rotary Little Library project is a Rotary 5680 District-wide project to bring “little libraries” to communities within the Rotary District.

The Ellis City Council has unanimously voted to hire Steve Homburg as the City’s Public Works (PW) Director. A veteran of the PW Department, Homburg was promoted Feb. 17, 2025 to PW Foreman.
