Meyerhoff Annual Lecture brings guest scholars to FHSU to discuss two historic territorial expansion efforts

The Departments of History and Political Science and the Forsyth Library at Fort Hays State University hosted the 2025 Joseph and Rebecca Meyerhoff Annual Lecture in Malloy 115 of Palmer Hall on Thursday, April 3. The focus of this year’s lecture was on the driving ideologies and human impact of the territorial expansion efforts of Nazi Germany during World War Two and the United States during the 19th and 20th centuries.

Commissioners' Annual County Roads Tour Apr 30

At the Ellis County Commission April 1 meeting, Chair Michael Berges, Vice Chair Neal Younger and Commissioner Nathan Leiker discussed their upcoming annual county road tour with County Administrator Darin Myers and Public Works (PW) Director Brendan Mackay. Each year, a special Ellis County Commission meeting is scheduled to have public works staff take the commissioners around Ellis County to look at different road and bridge projects that have either just been completed, are being worked on, are on the capital project list, or are newly identified by staff and the commission to go visit and discuss options.
