2025 Ellis County Median Property Value Increase of 3.0%

County Appraiser Eugene Rupp reported at the April 1, 2025, Ellis County Commission Meeting that the 2025 Ellis County property value median increase from 2024 was 3.0%, resulting in approximately $135,897,500, a slight decrease from the 4.7% property value mean increase seen last year (resulting in approximately $213,656,700 in total property appreciation for the County. Last year, Rupp noted that the 2024 median decrease (4.7%) was decreased compared to 2023’s overall median change of 10%.

"Healthier" housing market, according to County Appraiser Rupp

At the Ellis County Commission April 1, 2025 Meeting, County Appraiser Eugene Rupp stated that when comparing County property valuations with MLS Listings (the database maintained by real estate professions where properties for sale are shared) the housing market appears to be “healthier,” with fewer bidding wars. “During the COVID years, it was actually starting to become a little more common to see people bidding on homes and driving up home values, paying more than asking price because of the unavailability of homes.

Close Finishes at RPM For Night 2

RPM Speedway hosted the 13th Annual Sunflower Classic with 144 race teams participating on Friday Night. John Martinez won the sport compact feature race, Zach Olmstead triumphed in the hobby stocks, Brandon Spanjer secured victory in the sport mods, Kyle Pfeifer emerged victorious in the stock cars, and Dakota Sproul dominated the modifieds.
