15,032 paying passengers through HYS in 2024, an all-time high

The City of Hays acknowledged the Hays Regional Airport in their March 12, 2025, meeting, for hitting an all-time high of 15,032 enplanements last year. Airport Director Jamie Salter explained that while HYS has many kinds of aircraft operations, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) defines an “enplanement” as each paying passenger boarding an aircraft at the Airport.

Subdevelopment road discussion rescheduled to Mar 18 County Commission Mtg

Due to technical difficulties with the YouTube Live Streaming (and recording) of the Mar. 11, 2024, Ellis County Commission meeting, Commissioners, representatives from the Stonewood Estates North Addition Homeowners Association (HOA), and other constituents present, agreed to reschedule a discussion of subdivision road maintenance to the Commission’s next meeting at 8:30 a.m.
