USD489 BOE Candidates believe bond construction project accomplished what was promised

The answer was “yes” from five USD489 BOE candidates [Kelly Ancar, incumbent Ken Brooks, Craig Pallister, incumbent Curt Vajnar and incumbent Meagan Zampieri-Lillpopp] when asked Monday night if they “believe that everything that was promised to voters during the recent bond was accomplished.” This was only one of eight questions BOE candidates fielded during The Chamber’s 2025 Fall Election Forum. Leiker Road/280th Ave Project would require $65,000 water line relocation

According to September 25, 2025 Ellis County Commission Work Session Minutes, a Leiker Addition road project under consideration a water line would be relocated at an estimated cost of $65,000. Public Works (PW) Director Mackay reported the expanded right-of-way expense to Commissioners during a discussion of Subdevelopment Roads which focused on 280th and Leiker Road.
