Lyssy and Babcock deliver at the plate in Larks series win over Liberal
Tuesday night, the Hays Larks suffered their third loss of the season, third in the Rocky Mountain Baseball League, to the Liberal Bee Jays 1-4. Wednesday and Thursday, they used a pair of wins to take the series victory, 14-8 and 11-9.

The Hays Larks kept a strong season rolling with a Thursday night win over the Gameday Angels 11-4 at Larks Park. The contest was highlighted by a scoreless final five innings from the Larks pitching staff, as well as a five run fourth inning that made the difference.
Berges reconsiders vote — $25,000 in County funding assistance to Victoria now likely
Ellis County Commission Chair Michael Berges and Commissioner Nathan Leiker both indicated on June 17, 2025, that they would support, when the matter is presented is on July 1, 2025, for formal vote, the County providing $25,000 in funding assistance to the City of Victoria for reconstruction of the East Main St. approach to Old Hwy 40 reconstruction.

TMS treatment expanding, continues to change lives
A revolutionary treatment for severe adult depression is continuing to change lives in Northwest Kansas. Due to continued positive outcomes and volume of need, High Plains Mental Health Center is adding a second Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) treatment facility in Hays.
County declines, 2-1, Victoria's funding assistance request (for E. Main St. approach to Old Hwy 40 reconstruction)
Ellis County Commissioners declined, by a 2-1 vote, the City of Victoria’s request that the County pay $41, 561.67. Chair Michael Berges and Vice Chair Neal Younger opposed a motion to approve to the request.
