Following a 20-minute discussion during the May 15, 2025, Hays City Commission Work Session, Commissioners directed City Staff to conduct an online poll in an effort to gather more community input regarding a proposed ordinance permitting up to five hens (no roosters) city-wide, within a fenced back or side yard, fenced-in coop, with no registration required.
