Oral surgeon, great outdoorsman, devoted father, loving husband, loyal friend, and all-around really nice guy, Dr. Paul Dean Wagner (Wags) died peacefully surrounded by his immediate family in Lawrence, Kansas, June 1, after a long and brave battle with Parkinson’s. Johnney “John” Lee Guffey, 81, o f McPherson, KS, peacefully passed away on Monday, June 13, 2022, surrounded by his family at Hillsboro Community Hospital. Over the years, he worked for San Ore, Mistletoe Express, Beaver Express, and Prairieland Partners.

Leroy P. Jacobs

Leroy P. Jacobs, age 82, of La Crosse, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, June7, 2022 at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas after a brief illness.. Leroy was born on September 20, 1939 at La Crosse to Casper and Mary (Schmidt) Jacobs. He was united in marriage to Wilma Penka on January 13, 1958 at Liebenthal, Kansas. Leroy farmed near La Crosse and raised cattle his whole life, and worked as Parts Manager for Dechant Motors in La Crosse for over thirty years. He was a longtime member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in La Crosse, and was a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 2970 at La Crosse. Leroy loved antiques and collectibles.
