Track and Field will take on some higher numbers this season, adding newcomers on both the boys and girls' side. Last season, the Thomas More Prep-Marian Monarchs ended the year with a seventh-place finish at the state tournament (girls) after qualifying 11 athletes in the Norton Regional.

Fort Hays State continued its strong season with a gritty 5-4 comeback victory over Pittsburg State on Sunday (March 23) afternoon at Al Ortolani Field. The Tigers overcame an early deficit and relied on a clutch home run from Derek Woolwine, along with strong relief pitching from Kaleb Carpenter and Brandon Chavez, to secure the win.
Kaleb Hammeke of Fort Hays State was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District Team for the third-straight year in the Central Region. He was a selection on the second team once again.
