Football headlines throughout the state have been riddled with the 2022 seniors and their immense success as individuals and as leaders of a unified team. Having graduated big names including Jaren Kanak and Gavin Meyers, it would be easy to assume that the Indians have lost their touch, but that is far from the case.

Larks advance at World Series with 6-1 win

Behind Ben McLaughlin’s big night at the plate, the Hays Larks advanced to bracket play at the 88th annual NBC World Series with a 6-1 win over Lonestar Kracken on Monday at Eck Stadium. Hays (36-9) will play Lonestar Baseball Club – last year’s runner-up – on Thursday at Eck Stadium, time TBA. The winner will move on to the semifinals and the loser will be eliminated.

2022 Summer Slam Triathlon Results

Over the weekend, Hays Recreation Center hosted this year’s Summer Slam Triathlons. Participants competed in a 400-meter swim, 12-mile bike ride and a 5k run. HRC in partnership with Progressive Physical Therapy and Papa Murphy’s Take ‘n’ Bake Pizza of Hays welcomed racers in three categories; female, male and teams.
