Several members of the Kansas basketball team which won the national championship earlier this month are expected to be in Hays on Saturday as part of the KU Basketball Barnstorming Tour. In years past, Jayhawk seniors have toured the state, playing local high school seniors, with the KU players receiving the proceeds.

EMPORIA, Kan. - Two more school records went down for the Fort Hays State track and field team Sunday (April 24) at the Midwest Classic. Fort Hays State also totaled nine provisional qualifying marks and eight event victories in the event, hosted by Emporia State at Welch Stadium.

Dale, a senior high jumper for the Hays High track and field team, wants to win a state title and also wants to break the school record. Last year, Dale established a personal best of 6 feet, 5 inches in the Class 5A regional before going 6-4 in the state meet to finish second.
The Thomas More Prep-Marian baseball team split Friday’s doubleheader with Abilene, with a walk-off 5-4 victory in the opener before the visitors won 10-0 in five innings in the second game at TMP field.
