The Fort Hays State baseball team held two close competitions in their three game conference series against the Emporia State Hornets this weekend. On Friday, the Tigers earned their second win of the year with solid pitching performances and timely hitting.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Tigers fell behind early, but when you have Jared Vitztum on your team, good things can happen.

The Hays High boys basketball team saw their season come to an end after a loss at the hands of Topeka Seaman, 61-44. Friday night’s substate championship was only the second loss for the Indians this season.

Two close losses last week helped the Hays High girls’ basketball team win Wednesday night’s Class 5A sub-state opener against Maize South. The Indians made the key plays in the final seconds to claim a 37-35 win at the HHS gym.

An underwhelming free agent class for quarterbacks is overshadowed by the possibility of multiple big names changing teams, most notably Aaron Rodgers Ḟrom the potential move of Rodgers out of Green Bay to the likely departure of San Francisco’s Jimmy Garoppolo despite the 49ers reaching another NFC championship game with him, trades, not courtships, are the talk of the QB market. The constant chatter about Rodgers drowns out a change that would be equally seismic ‚Äî Russell Wilson leaving Seattle.
