The TMP Monarchs earned a place in the second-round of the 3A Goodland sub-state with a win over Goodland Monday night, 71-39. Goodland made the first shot of the game to take a 2-0 lead before the Monarchs answered with an 8-0 run including a Bryce Seib 3-pointer that brought the crowd to its feet.

The Tigers opening conference contest against the Washburn Ichabods saw extra innings, going to 12 before losing a heartbreaker 2-3. The following two games would fall in favor of Washburn as the Ichabods gained momentum throughout the three game series.

The Tiger softball team attended the Washburn Invitational Saturday through Monday, finishing 3-3 on the weekend against Northern Sun Intercollegiate and Great Lakes Valley Conference opponents. Fort Hays 6, St.
