PLAINVILLE – With the Monarchs’ leading scorer finding little room inside, the Thomas More Prep-Marian boys’ basketball team relied on its outside shooting in Friday’s semifinals of the MCL tournament.
The Tigers earned a split in Golden, Colorado, defeating the San Francisco State Gators 38-10, before dropping their match against no. 21 Colorado School of Mines Orediggers, 28-12.
Hays High hosted the Hays High School Invite Tuesday afternoon at HaysMed Wellness Center. The Indians earned top five in seven events and ended the day in fifth place with 332 points.
The Fort Hays State men’s basketball team took down the Missouri Southern Lions, 89-71, in Thursday night’s contest. In the first half, the Tigers outscored the Lions 48-40; the team shot 17-30 (56.67%) in field goals, 6-12 (50%) from the three point line and 8-11 (72.73%) from the free throw line.
The No. 2 ranked Tigers suffered their second loss of the season at the hands of Missouri Southern, 54- 41, Thursday night.
