Thomas More Prep Marian football suffered their second loss of the season, now 2-2 in conference play, dropping an overtime match up against Smith Center Friday night 20-14.
At the Hutchinson Invite Thursday morning, Hays High’s Jaycee Oakley ended the day with a 12th place finish, shooting an 80 to lead the Indians. As a team, Hays finished 11th of 19 teams with a 397.
Tuesday, the Monarchs used a pair of wins to improve their record to 16-8, moving their win streak to 13 before falling to the Phillipsburg Panthers in a three-set loss.
Thursday afternoon, the Indians hosted a home quad against Salina South, Abilene and WAC opponent Liberal, sweeping the competition in a 3-0 night. The trio of wins puts the Indians at 16-6 on the season.
The Tigers have yet to play like they are capable and need to be more physical, said Fort Hays State University football coach Chris Brown.

It was first and frequent for the Monarchs offense as they put up a 50-7 victory over Stanton County Friday night in their district opener. The Homecoming celebration began quickly as TMP reached the board within the first two minutes, doing all of their damage in the first half of the contest.
