In a tightly contested season opener, the Thomas More Prep-Marian Monarchs earned a 7-6 victory over Russell to start their 2024 season out 1-0.
The Ellis Railers opened the 2024 season with a tight 48-44 win over Lincoln in a home contest Friday night.
Hays High competed against top ranked Derby at Lewis Field Friday night, falling 40-7 in their home opener.
Fort Hays State returned to the AFCA Top 25 for the first time since the 2019 season on Monday (Sept. 9). The Tigers are No. 25 in the latest edition of the poll, giving the MIAA four teams inside the Top 25. FHSU elevated from No. 24 to No. 21 in the latest D2Football.com Top 25 Poll, also released on Monday.
The Fort Hays State volleyball team wrapped up its trip to the 2024 Mountain Lion Classic with a four-set victory over Cameron University on Saturday (Sept. 7), 25-19, 25-11, 20-25, 25-14. The Tigers move to 2-1 on the season, while the Aggies wrap up the opening weekend 0-4.
Missouri Western has had the Tigers’ number in recent years. The Griffons have won five straight over the Tigers and the last time the Fort Hays State University football team defeated Missouri Western was during the 2017 season.
With record-setting running back Malik Bah now a member of the Fort Hays State University football team, Hays High’s offense might look a little different this fall.
10-7-1 and their first time hosting a Regional, the Hays High boys soccer team fought until the very end, but ultimately left unfinished business on the field. Valley Center ended the Indians season in a 3-1 victory, leaving this year's returners hungry for another shot at the post season.
