The Hays High Cross Country team has their season underway after competing in Great Bend Thursday morning. Senior Taevian Maupin debuted the 2024 season with a team best time of 17:22.15, fellow senior Camdyn Cooper finishing in 23:31.09.

Fort Hays State senior defensive back Benyon Williams was named MIAA Co-Defensive Athlete of the Week on Tuesday (Sept. 3) for his efforts in the season-opening 21-7 win over Angelo State. Williams shared the honor this week with Thomas Cook of Pittsburg State. Both FHSU and PSU picked up wins over nationally ranked teams last week.
